Johannesburg, South Africa - ECE90 vehicle brake testing services announced the launch of a web site (www.ece90.com) today. The aim of this web site is to disseminate information about vehicle brake testing services, with specific focus on the testing and certification of automotive brake lining assemblies.
ECE90 Brake Testing (Pty) Ltd was established in June 2001 with the sole purpose of providing vehicle brake testing services in order to comply with the Economic Commission for Europe ECE Regulation 90 and other international industry specifications used in the brake friction industry.
SANAS (South African National accreditation system) accredited the laboratory to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, taking vehicle brake testing to a new level. Having obtained this accreditation opened the laboratory up for International testing services.
The laboratory initially obtained accreditation for their dynamometer testing services for light vehicle but expanded services to include dynamometer testing for light commercial vehicles, dynamic vehicle tests, shear strength and compressibility tests to the requirements of the ECE Regulation. ECE90 expect to obtain accreditation for these services in the near future.
"Our staff consists of highly experienced vehicle brake testing service professionals with experience in development testing of braking systems for new motor vehicles, testing of both vehicle braking systems and brake lining assemblies for compliance with compulsory safety requirements and participating membership of technical committees for vehicle braking system and brake lining assembly specifications" says Mr. Alan Wright, ECE90 director.
Mr. Wright also highlighted the importance of the following: "We believe that we could make a significant difference to the safety of motorists and their passengers by providing these services as compliance to these safety standards give vehicle owners peace of mind that their brakes would not fail while driving. Many cheap imports do not comply to these safety standards costing passengers and motorists lives when they have to rely on their brakes the most."
